See and Ski Beverly
Join the BIA for its cross-country skiing event held on each Sunday in January when there is 4" or more of snow
on the ground. The group meets at the 91st Street train station where hot chocolate is provided.
Nature and Bird Watching Hike in the Dan Ryan Woods - On Saturday, May 19th, 2007, at 7:30 AM a nature and bird watching hike took place in the Dan Ryan Woods. The walk was led by local plant and bird expert Ken Wysodi. Thanks again to Ken for leading this wonderful event and helping to showcase this wonderful natural resource right here in our own backyard.
UPCOMING EVENTS
The BIA Family Bike Ride took place Sunday, June 24th 2007 at 3:30 PM. Starting at Maggie Cosme Park, 91st and Longwood Drive, we rode along the Major Taylor Bike Trail from 91st Street to the North end of the trail at 81st Street, a round trip distance of 2.5 miles. We have arranged through Alderman Rugai to have Chicago Police for the event. Beverly Bike and Ski at 91st and Western will be there to help with minor tune-ups. The BIA will be providing refreshments. This is a great ride for the whole family.

Mayor Daley's Clean and Green - Saturday, May 17, 2008: In conjuction with the City of Chicago, the Beverly Improvement Association led a group of residents to do their part in making North Beverly both cleaner and greener.
BIA Annual Open Meeting
The BIA's 2007 Annual Open Meeting is 7:30 pm October 22nd at St. Paul's Bible Church. Our Open Meeting is when we vote on the Directors and Officers of the BIA, we present our Community Person of the Year award, and will also feature an address by Alderman Ginger Rugai. All residents of the BIA district are encouraged to attend. Please check back for details.
Friends of the Dan Ryan Woods
The Friends of the Dan Ryan Woods is a group of volunteers that meet once a month, on the second Saturday of the month from 9 AM to noon, to help restore our woods to its original splendor. Local experts, as well as a Cook County Forest Preserve representatives, help volunteers identify and remove invasive plant species to help allow the natural plant life thrive. Join us an learn ALOT more about our amazing gift of the Dan Ryan Forest Preserve.

The Beverly Improvement Association is participating in the City of Chicago's "Clean and Green" event on Saturday, May 17th from 9:00 - 12:00. Volunteers interested in participating in a work day designed to help beautify some of North Beverly's public spaces should meet at the 91st Street Metra Station at 9:00 am. In previous years, volunteers helped clean up in the Dan Ryan Woods, the 91st Street Station, and the neighborhood cul-de-sacs. Refreshments will be served before and hot dogs will be available after the event. Groups interested in participating should contact Ed Blough at 773-239-6408.
